Rate Card Intermediate Quantities Calculation
Pricing for intermediate quantities is based on a calculation of the unit price based on the difference between the quantity prices either side.
For example, say the following prices were entered:
Quantity | Price |
1,000 | 100.00 |
2,000 | 190.00 |
3,000 | 250.00 |
4,000 | 300.00 |
If the user entered a quantity of 2,500, the price would be calculated as follows:
Base price for 2,000: 190.00
Unit price for items for items between 2,000 and 3,000: 250 - 190 / 1,000 = 0.06
Final price: 190.00 + (0.06 * 500) = 220.00

Using a rate card with one option:
Quantity | Base Price | Option Price |
100 | 60.00 | 12.00 |
500 | 300.00 | 24.00 |
1,000 | 750.00 | 45.00 |
5,000 | 3750.00 | 60.00 |
Ordering a quantity of 200 would be calculated in the following way:
Base price: 60.00 + (100 * (300.00 - 60.00)/(500 - 100)) = 120.00
Option Price: 12.00 + (100 * (24.00 - 12.00)/(500 - 100)) = 15.00
Total Price = 135.00
Ordering a quantity of 1050 would be:
Base price: 750.00 + (50 * (3750.00 - 750.00)/(5000 - 1000)) = 787.50
Option Price: 45.00 + (50 * (60.00 - 45.00)/(5000 - 1000)) = 45.19
Total Price = 832.69
