Using the catalogue and the ordering process

This page details how customer users can use the customer catalogue to browse for items and order different types of catalogue items


Browsing for an item from the catalogue

  • To begin the customer clicks ‘catalogue’ the menu at the top of the page, if the customer already knows what item they are looking for they can also use the search box to find the item

 

  • The catalogue is arranged into a series of categories and sub-categories, displayed on the left-hand side

 

  • The customer can use the + icon to expand or collapse a category

 

  • Once the customer has found the item they want to purchase they click on the ‘Add’ button to add the item to their basket

 

  • The ordering process will work slightly differently if the customer is requesting a quote, ordering a rate card or a stock item


Requesting a quote

  • The customer finds the item they require and clicks the add button to add the item to their basket

  • The customer now chooses their required quantity and also selects any options that are available on the specification form (please be advised some forms are more detailed than the other)

  • The customer can also attach files to their quote request and add any special instructions

  • The customer clicks ‘Get a quote’

  • The customer is now on the My Quotes page

  • The customer clicks ‘send quote requests’ and the requests are sent

 

  • The requests now appear in the 'Sent Quotes' section

  • Once prices have been received for a quote the customer can add the quote to their basket

 

  • The customer can now add another address by clicking the ‘add address’ button. A pop up box will appear and the customer can search for other pre-existing address to add to their order

 

Ordering a rate card

  • The customer finds the item they require and clicks the add button to add the item to their basket

  • The customer chooses any options and adds any attachments to their order

  • The customer clicks ‘add to basket’

 

  • The customer chooses the quantity they require

  • The customer clicks checkout to proceed

  • The customer is given an overview of the order and has another chance to upload any attachments or change the delivery address

 

  • When the customer is ready to proceed they click ‘Place Order’

  • The customer is then shown the Order Confirmation screen

 

Ordering a stock item

  • The customer finds the item they require, they choose how many units they need to order and then they click the blue ‘Add’ button

  • The item is now in the basket

  • The customer can add more items or they can proceed to checkout by pressing the checkout button

  • The customer is given an overview of the order and at this point can upload any attachments or change the delivery address

  • When the customer is ready to proceed they click ‘Place Order’

  • The customer is then shown the Order Confirmation screen
