Various Part actions are generic and can be performed on any kind of Part at any point in the Project workflow.



Add Part

This function allows you to add a Part to a Project.

  1. Select the Project from All Projects.

  2. On the Project Parts page, click the Add Part button.
    You will be redirected to the Add Part page.

  3. Follow the normal workflow for adding a Part.
    For more information see Finding a Quote Request item.



Unlock / Lock Current Part

This function allows you to lock and unlock a Part. <<why would an admin want to? To stop others changing it? Is it linked to access rights? Why does the warning only mention changing suppliers, rather than anything?>>

  1. Select the Project from All Projects.

  2. On the Project Parts page, click the Unlock Current Part button.
    A warning message appears:

Delete Selected

This function allows you to delete a Project Part.

  1. Select the Project from All Projects.

  2. On the Project Parts page, click the Delete Selected button.
    A warning message appears:


    You are asked to give a reason for deletion, but can delete without it.
    Is the reason stored / sent anywhere?

  3. Click Yes.



Copy Selected

This function allows you to copy a Project Part. This can save you a lot of time if you need to create multiple similar Parts. You can copy a Part and amend it rather than having to re-enter all the details from scratch.

  1. Select the Project from All Projects.

  2. On the Project Parts page, click the Copy Selected button.
    A copy of the Part is created with the status New.
